These new standards are now available for reporting for entities that choose to adopt them early. All private enterprises will be required to decide between IFRS and Private Enterprise Standards for years beginning on or after January 1, 2011. This session will provide a comprehensive overview of the new Private Enterprise Standards with explanations for key areas including financial instruments, employee future benefits, intangible assets, goodwill impairment, stock-based compensation, asset retirement obligations, income taxes, investments, callable debt and leases. Disclosures requirements and transition issues will also be discussed.
